Human Rights Cannot Be Ignored
But people of color have understand this for a long time. It is White America that has been slow to understand, slow to change, and overly slow to act.
Black Lives Matter. We all need to say it, and say it again. Black Lives Matter!
The way to tell if a company or organization understands the systemic, pervasive nature of racism is not by their words - but by their actions. If you look at a company and their senior management is almost all white - it means they do not really understand. If their hiring is not diverse, then they do not understand. If their advertising has only white people in it, then they do not understand. These things are true of every organization, and government group too.
When Trump surrounds himself with all white males, its clear evidence of racism - and sexism, too.
I for one am getting tired of Republicans thinking they can judge everyone, judge everything, and control other people. It is no one's business but your own what your sexual identity is, what language you speak, what church you go to, who you marry, and how a woman controls her own body. The Republican/Conservative mentality in the past has promoted slavery, and tried to prevent women from voting. They have tried to reduce civil rights wherever and whenever they can - and they are still trying! Republicans are trying to control women's bodies, and promoting Christianity over other religions. Their aggressive treatment of Muslims is also based on Racism. Their obsession with the Wall with Mexico is based on Racism. Republican Gerrymandering is another racist effort to control voting. At some point, the United States needs to come to terms with how much damage the Conservative mindset has done to our country - and continues to do.
