The time has passed for Groupon?
Groupon used to be the only daily deals site I used. No longer. And the ironic thing is that Groupon pushed me away. I have bought a ton of deals on Groupon, more than any other deals site - but that will change now.
First are the lost features. They used to have an hourly deals feature called Groupon Now, it was fun and had many interesting things. They ended it.
Secondly, and much worse, is that Groupon used to tell me how many miles to get to a deal. You can put in your home and work addresses, and one more 'favorites' address. On any deal it used to say how many miles - but no longer. I did a support ticket, and after a large number of emails with Groupon staff, there was no resolution.
How far a deal is makes a big difference; both in time (like going for lunch), gas costs, and trip time (especially during Traffic). Since Groupon already had this feature, they had the software - why remove a working feature? It makes NO sense.
No one needs Groupon now. There are many deals companies - so there is no reason to just stick with Groupon.
The flood of daily deal emails gets annoying, so your best bet is turn off the daily emails, and just check all the main deal websites when you are in the mood to buy something. Deal sites include LivingSocial.com, Amazon deals, eBay deals, and even Google has a deals page.
Groupon could have kept innovating, instead of losing features. Why drive away loyal customers?
