Once you think about, it makes a lot of sense - the Android OS is a fast and simple operating system to use, so having it on your desktop computer is natural, and will save you money. The same Android OS you are used to on your phone and your tablet, can now be on a more powerful, desktop PC. With larger screens, faster cpu's, and more storage, the Android desktop computer has arrived. Use it in your home office, living room, or as the main computer in a small business. Now you can work on all your devices in the same way.
What would be really useful would be an Android Desktop computer with a large 3TB or 4TB hard drive space, to do the backups for all of the devices in the home or small office wifi network. The large screen of an Android Desktop is ideal for gaming, for work, and for watching movies. Also, checkout our tablet site, TabletApps.com.

Android desktops are still in their early stages. Manufacturers are figuring out what people want. Early models had minimal spec's, basically the same as tablets but a larger screen and full size keyboard. We are hoping they continue to evolve. Some Android Desktops have a large, gorgeous touchscreen and are potentially usable in business. You can find a free, full office suite for Android from Kingsoft, and many other apps in general, making an Android Desktop a useful machine - and simpler to use than Windows.
You can find Android Desktop computers from Acer, Toshiba, Asus, Lenovo, and others.

There is another way to have an 'Android Desktop' on your desk - using your current desktop! There are emulation apps that allow a windows PC to run full Android. One of the more popular ones is called Andy. Andy runs separately from Windows, and gives you the full Android experience including access to Google Play. If you have used Andy, please send us your comments or a full review and we will publish it.
