There are many ways to help others
The easiest way to help others is to donate money to local charities where you live, that can help so much in the short term. We are looking for ways to help that have a long-term effect. Kiva is a great example because instead of just giving someone some money to eat right now, you help them start a business - a farm, or raising cattle, or improving their store. We are looking for more things like this, ethical & proactive ways to give people long-term stability. We can also use our voting power to choose candidates that have a strong focus on helping others, helping people end homelessness, and protecting the environment.
Business can do this also. A great example is 'Impact Sourcing', a concept created by the late Leila Janah. When you buy supplies, especially in large volume like for manufacturing, if you focus on suppliers that are located in areas with, and are hiring, socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals, that is impact sourcing. Learn more about impact sourcing in this Wikipedia article. Businesses can have strong health policies (masking, requiring Covid-19 vaccines, antiviral workplace designs, etc). Businesses can easily donate a few percent of their net profit for donations, especially to help their local communities, and help the homeless rise up (Jobs, and safe residences). Businesses can also have an ethical approach to their environmental impact, with long-term efforts to improve.
