Who will lead in App Discovery?
But the huge number of apps creates a new problem: how to find the best ones? This is called 'app discovery'. And right now it is a growing problem for users. There are just too many apps.
This is why we bought the URL, TabletApps.com. We recognize the App Discovery problem as the next big opportunity in tablets.
The answer lies with the word 'curation'. Curation is a process of review where the best apps are found, and summarized for users. True creation is not about advertising but it an actual honest review process.
But is that enough? It turns out, its not.
To make your tablet work to its full potential, you not only need a set of apps, you want them to work seamlessly together. For example a salesman who wanted to carry a tablet will need apps for email, calendar, maps and route planning, accounting, presentation apps, research apps, and more. How can one person find all of that, find the best apps for each area, and have them all work together perfectly? This is a hard thing to do, and few users will do it well.
Yet every person has to duplicate that effort. Person after person.
What is needed in the market now, is one company to solve this. The solution will be what I call, "Curated Apps Packages". Curation is not hard but it takes time and commitment, and a desire to give the users what they need; instead of just doing business-as-usual.
